MLA vs APA. What is the Difference?

Writing is not as simple as many believe. For instance, the bibliography should cite all sources used when preparing an oral presentation in class, including Internet documents, interviews, television programs, CD-ROM publications and printed materials such as books, magazines and newspaper articles, reference works, government documents, and the like. There are many bibliographic formats and you should check with your teacher to see what he or she wants you to follow. Below are examples of the two main formats, the Modern Language Association (MLA) and the American Psychological Association (APA). 

APA: Standards systematized by the American Psychological Association, used in this area as well as the social sciences. 

MLA: From the Modern Language Association of America is used in reports and research papers. It is a tool to automatically generate citations. 

Do you know how to do a thesis? So, it seems a difficult task, because the research requires reading several books. Some students fail to finish a thesis, because they have read and researched but do not know how to organize their library materials. As previously mentioned, the proposed publishing models enjoy great prestige and acceptance in academia. Quotes and quotations are pretty much alike. Many anonymous people share thoughts. It is like, we all think exist. However, you cannot use a random phrase and or quote as if it was your own. There isn't anything wrong on referring to a specific author, it is actually good. This displays you’ve been searching, the teacher may feel satisfied with your final outcome.

If you are having trouble to cite correctly, try to find tutorials and ask around. You can consult as much as you want. Distinguish the most suitable format and go from there. Both MLA and APA formats are good. Simply choose and use it properly. Your paper must be complete so don’t leave this matter aside. While it may appear hard at the very beginning, you may end up loving such formats in the end. As soon as you get used to it, everything will be done fast and without a single issue.

How to Write an MLA Reference Page

Learning how to write an MLA reference page is very important because you will be doing it over and over again while writing academic papers.

You should title your page as a Works Cited page or a Literature Consulted, or a Works Consulted. It varies depending on what you would like to write. Then you should list your references or primary and secondary works such as books and journals that you have referenced in your paper. You should list them alphabetically and after you've listed the name of the author, last name followed by first name, you are going to list the book from which this author wrote. Then, publishing information. You are not only going to list the publisher, but also the city which it came from.

There are so many different ways to make a Works Cited page in MLA format. Your professor might tell you that you are going to be doing an MLA formatted page but they might give their own reference guide on how they would like you to format it. Make sure that you check with the professor and get their ideas on what they think the Works Cited page should look like. Make sure you are doing whatever your particular professor wants.
