Willy and Linda have a typical marriage but it seems as if it is Linda that is keeping the family together. You can tell that Linda cares deelply for Willy, because the way that she talks to him. When Willy came back from Yonkers and he was explaining to Linda about why he turned around and came back home, he tells Linda that he was having some lapses in his conscienceness,

as well known as he bragged to Biff and Happy whe they were young boys. In the final lines of the novel(p.139) when Linda sobs as she says "we're free... we're free..." Linda means that the family is free from all the pain that they went through when Willy was alive. In the end of the novel Linda finally has the courage to say how she really feels, but still in a suttle way.
