…is the lowest form of learning, then why is it all we ever assess? Standardized tests circumscribe the teacher and the students creativity and enthusiasm. We need to develop a more didactic assessment of students. Standardized tests do not allow for the student to learn from their mistakes. Alternative assessments such as portfolios and exhibitions should be included when examining students in order to promote group activity and make learning more creative and less perfunctory.
