…of the story is simply not reliable. The fact that nothing is concrete in "The Turn of the Screw" makes it even more uncomfortable to read. Henry James uses fear of the unknown to charge up this novella by using the governess as the narrator. Many commonly associate youth with rebellion. That is what makes these two novels different. The ages and attitudes of the two main characters are the foundation for these two novellas.
