Continuing Negotiations for reconciliation and remaining loyal to Britain are two very good options for the colonies, but the best choice that is offered at the Second Continental Congress in May 1776 is revolting against Britain. The colonists have tried the other two options and they have failed. They should not give Britain another chance it does not deserve. Now, the only way to gain equality is to break free and become a separate nation as important as Britain is.
