Race related issues are not a new concept. Man certainly didn't need to develop theories or philosophies to know that some people looked different, and those differences were passed on almost unfailingly to children. Most recent discourse on race, though, has been on how we should deal with the idea of race and what role race should play in our society. (Is one race superior? How should be deal with inequalities among races?) There is

that come along with the common beliefs held about race, can be beneficial in pursuing racial harmony, which could ultimately take us closer to a place where phasing out the notion of race would actually be feasible. It would be nice if we would fix the problems with the concept of race by declaring its non-existence, but it will do no more good than me proclaiming "the truth is that there are no final exams."
