…authority is a grown-up. But in the adult world there is no one to step in and stop humankind from destroying itself. I accept Golding's point of view of how fragile and self-destructive mankind can be once it is freed from the civilization constraint. I also agree with William Golding, that savagery was always in mankind, but need the proper situation to come out and cause a transformation of even the most innocent of us.
