…Even if one presumed that the supporters had refuted this, they could not refute the argument that the finality of capital punishment does not allow errors to be corrected. The Marquis de Lafayette concludes, "Till the infallibility of human judgement shall have been proved to me, I shall demand the abolition of the death penalty" (Radelet 281). Since the supporters of capital punishment have never claimed that they could prove this, I must agree with Lafayette.
